We have a chance to help make history by making India the largest country ever to go 100% smoke-free by banning smoking-areas in public places. Over 100 youth activists from all corners of India signed up to take part in our historic smoke-free campaign. This weekend we’re calling all of you to use your voice to tell the Minister of Health to ban designated smoking areas.

Action#1: Share What Your 100% Smoke-Free Future Will Look Like
What will your future look like when the smoke clears? In order to demonstrate how important making India 100% smoke-free is to the youth of India, we’re asking you all to share a personal anecdote on how you will thrive in a 100% smoke-free future once India bans smoking-areas in public places.
You can share the gif attached and use the hashtag #smokefreeindia on your social media describing your goals for a future that will be 100% smoke-free, and ask your friends to do the same. Feel free to share on any social media platform, but include the link or screenshot in the chat below as we’ll be collecting stories to share with key leaders.
Action#2: Tell the Minister to Make India 100% Smoke-Free
India has a chance to become the largest country in the world to become 100% Smoke-Free and we need your help to contact the Minister of Health and tell him to ban designated smoking-areas in public places like hotels, restaurants, airports and offices.
We’ve developed a series of graphics that you can use to take part our collective action this weekend October 9-11, sharing tailored graphics calling for India to go 100% smoke-free, tagging the Minister of Health, Dr Harsh Vardhan, asking him to ban designated smoking-areas.
We prefer that you use Twitter to share content or Instagram if you prefer, but you can also use the visuals on other platforms as desired. You can tag him at @drharshvardhan on Twitter or @drharshvardhanofficial on Instagram. Use the attached graphics and the sample post text below.
All posts should use the hashtag #smokefreeindia.

1/3 of India’s youth are subjected to second hand smoke in public places. @drharshvardhan, this needs to be immediately addressed through a ban on smoking-areas in public places like hotels, restaurants, airports and offices. #smokefreeIndia

On the 12th anniversary of India’s smoke-free I’m calling on @drharshvardhan to build a better future for India’s youth by giving our generation an India that is 100% smoke-free. #smokefreeindia
